Plot Summary & Basic Intro Idea

The story is based loosely on true, personal events and I want to capture realistically and appropriately the situation, themes and issues I am dealing with. I based it on what happened to me but admittedly changed it slightly. I started a new secondary school half way through the first year when everybody (with exceptions) was already settled and had established themselves amongst the school's inner social hierarchy and although it is encouraged for students not to follow particular cliques, it appears to be automatic and happens to everyone whether it’s intentional or not.

Basic Plot for my film

Louise is starting a new school where she knows nobody; she tries her best to fit in but nothing seems to work out for her until a popular, rebellious girl named Emma approaches her. There is a sense of dramatic irony here as I intentionally want the audience to be cautious of Emma but not Louise who will stay oblivious. Emma does come across as friendly at first, but it’s soon revealed that she’s not all she seems when she’s around her other friends, this is when Louise comes to the realisation that Emma sustains effortlessly a facade of innocence.

Emma pressures Louise, causing her to rebel and go against the rules of the school, Louise gets bullied if she refuses so to try and fit in the new school and fit in with her new friends she follows Emma getting herself into heaps of trouble while Emma gets away with everything. Eventually, Louise finds herself in more trouble than she can handle and regrets everything bad she has done and wishes she can go back and start again at the school. Is it too late to right the wrongs?

Intro Idea

As well as the titles running during the intro the actual scene will start off with Louise walking through the doors of the new school feeling nervous but also excited; the camera will then track her as she makes her way around until she witnesses two year 8 girls intimidating a year 7, she immediately retreats from the situation feeling slightly fearful of the new school. Louise then eventually meets Emma in a classroom who appears to be friendly. You can tell from my intro that my plot will be based around bullying and that it will be of the social realism genre because it will have the naturalistic aspect to it.
